Celtic Football Club has officially reached an agreement with Borussia Mönchengladbach to sign Czech forward Tomáš Čvančara on loan for the remainder of the current season, as reported by Sky Germany.

Čvančara is currently en route to Scotland along with his management team, where he is expected to undergo a medical examination. Assuming all procedures proceed smoothly, Celtic will assume responsibility for the player’s salary and will also retain an option to secure a permanent transfer for the striker.

Since joining Borussia Mönchengladbach from Sparta Prague for €10.5 million in July 2023, the Neratovice native has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.

Earlier this season, Čvančara spent the first half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Antalyaspor, where he recorded just one goal in 11 Süper Lig appearances, totaling 526 minutes of play before returning to Gladbach due to issues related to unpaid wages. The 25-year-old has since filed a lawsuit to recover his owed wages.
