Club América is actively developing its medium-term sporting strategy to maintain competitiveness both in domestic leagues and on the international front.

Recent reports from Medio Tiempo and Fox Sports indicate that while the club has aspirations of reuniting with Raúl Jiménez in the future, their immediate priority is elsewhere. The club has initiated discussions with Palmeiras midfielder Raphael Veiga, emphasizing the need to bolster the midfield. They are particularly looking for a dynamic box-to-box player who can enhance the team’s balance, tempo, and attacking creativity—an area that has shown notable inconsistency this season.

Jiménez, whose contract with Fulham concludes this summer, is expected to be available as a free agent and would arrive at a mature stage of his career. Club executives believe that his experience, leadership, and goal-scoring instincts could prove crucial in high-pressure situations, while also helping to solidify the squad’s identity by integrating national talent with internationally recognized players.

The prospect of Jiménez’s return holds significant emotional value for fans. He previously made 102 appearances for Club América before transitioning to Europe, establishing himself as one of Mexico’s most promising forwards of his generation— a journey that could now culminate with a return to the Estadio Azteca.

However, Club América has had a challenging start to the Clausura 2026 season. After three matches, the team has accumulated only two points and has yet to score a goal in the tournament. Their next challenge will occur on January 31, when they face Necaxa in Matchday 4.
