Feyenoord s Winter Transfer Updates Jari De Busser and Mats DeijlFeyenoord s Winter Transfer Updates Jari De Busser and Mats Deijl

Feyenoord is likely not to strengthen its squad this winter with the acquisition of Jari De Busser. This assertion comes from Rutger Vinke on X, who claims that the Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper is deemed too expensive for the Rotterdam club.

The situation follows the recent departure of second-choice goalkeeper Justin Bijlow to Genoa, prompting general and technical director Dennis Te Kloese to seek a suitable replacement. According to reports from Algemeen Dagblad, De Busser was considered a viable option to compete with Timon Wellenreuther. While Feyenoord has not officially approached him, he remains a candidate for the position.

In contrast, Mats Deijl appears to be on the verge of joining Feyenoord. SoccerNews reported on Wednesday that the club has reached a verbal agreement both with Go Ahead Eagles and with the 28-year-old right-back. It is suggested that Deijl could be signed for a modest fee due to a clause in his contract, although technical director Marc van Hintum has denied these claims. “Those agreements were set for the summer and not for this winter. That story is absolutely not true,” he stated to RTV Oost.
