Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Tomas Cvancara’s loan to Celtic Glasgow has been officially confirmed. The Scottish Premiership club has announced that the loan arrangement includes a purchase option, with Cvancara’s estimated market value set at €2.5 million.

According to Sky Germany, Celtic will take on the full responsibility for Cvancara’s wages as part of the deal. The Czech international is likely relieved to be joining a reputable club, especially following a wage dispute that led to the premature termination of his recent loan to Antalyaspor.

Cvancara will join fellow German professionals Andreas Skov Olsen from Wolfsburg (on loan to Rangers) and Bundesliga veteran Alexander Schwolow (currently at Hearts of Midlothian) in Scotland. All three players will be competing for this year’s title with their respective clubs. Cvancara specifically moves to the reigning Scottish champions, who are also reportedly interested in Eintracht Frankfurt defender Auréle Amenda.

BMG sporting director Rouven Schröder expressed satisfaction in a club statement, saying, “We are delighted to have found an amenable solution for all parties involved. [Celtic is] a good destination for Tomas following the premature termination of his loan to Antalyaspor.”

Reflecting on his move, Cvancara stated, “It’s an enormous honor to sign for this club. Celtic is one of the biggest names in world football, and I’m pleased to be able to make my contribution here.”
