PSV has been grappling with injuries since the beginning of the season, missing key players such as Ruben van Bommel and Alassane Pléa. Recently, Myron Boadu and Ricardo Pepi joined the lineup of absentees, and now striker number five, Guus Til, will also miss the home match against NAC Breda.

Guus Til sustained a knee injury during the match against Newcastle United (3-0), which has been troubling him for some time. Consequently, he will be unavailable for the home game against NAC. In his absence, it is likely that a winger will play in the central forward position, with Ivan Perisic and Esmir Bajraktarevic as the primary candidates. Coach Peter Bosz commented during a press conference on Friday, “I have not experienced this before, but we do have players who can step in for that position.” When asked about the possibility of bringing in a new striker this month, he responded, “I have mentioned before that we are looking for someone who can add quality. Otherwise, we will proceed with our current squad.”

In search of redemption, PSV faced a challenging match against Newcastle, where they struggled significantly. Bosz stated, “Every footballer experiences losses throughout their career, and we are no exception. It takes some adjustment, especially since it has been a while since we last lost. People’s reactions differ, and our perceptions may not always align with those of others. We must learn from this and move forward. Our major shortfall this week was our inability to create scoring opportunities. We need to improve in that area. While personal errors are difficult to eliminate, many other aspects of our performance were satisfactory.”
