Feyenoord s Recent Transfers Under Scrutiny from Club AnalystFeyenoord s Recent Transfers Under Scrutiny from Club Analyst

Feyenoord has recently bolstered its squad with the additions of Jerry St. Juste, and Mats Deijl is expected to join shortly. However, club analyst Martijn Krabbendam is not particularly impressed by these moves.

In the Dick Voor Mekaar podcast, Krabbendam, who works for Voetbal International, expressed his skepticism: “This all feels reminiscent of years past when Feyenoord was in crisis and sought to acquire similar players. It is evident how these decisions are being made. It’s safe to assume that St. Juste and Deijl were not identified through the scouting department. I doubt that the scouting team submitted enthusiastic reports to the coaching staff recommending these players as essential acquisitions to improve Feyenoord.”

He raised concerns about the long-term strategy, questioning whether these signings are genuinely beneficial. “One can wonder if these are indeed worthwhile additions. While Deijl and St. Juste may fit into the current Feyenoord setup, we must consider whether they align with the vision for the future team we aspire to see next year. Ideally, we want a Feyenoord that is an improvement over the current squad. However, I am uncertain if Mats Deijl is the right choice for a right-back position, especially at the age of 28 when further development may be limited.”
