Ajax Aims for Last Minute Transfers Amid ComplicationsAjax Aims for Last Minute Transfers Amid Complications

Ajax is hopeful to complete several incoming transfers in the final week of the transfer window. Oleksandr Zinchenko remains high on their wishlist, though his potential move to Amsterdam may be uncertain.

Earlier this month, it appeared that Zinchenko’s transfer was a matter of days; however, the situation has now become somewhat stagnant. Club analyst Lentin Goodijk from Voetbal International describes it as a ‘complicated deal.’ “There are four parties involved. He is currently on loan from Arsenal to Nottingham Forest, so that loan agreement must first be terminated. Following that, Arsenal and Ajax need to reach an agreement,” the journalist explained.

Jordi Cruijff is already taking an interest in this matter, despite officially starting his role as Ajax’s technical director only in February. He has been actively involved in the situation, as reported by Mike Verweij earlier this week in the podcast Kick-Off. “He may not be making the choices yet, but he is involved in many aspects. He is also assessing various matters. When you speak to people, they become excited by Cruijff’s enthusiasm.”
