Manu Fajardo, the sporting director of Real Betis, spoke with DAZN from the pitch at Mendizorroza just moments before his team’s match against Deportivo Alavés in the 21st round of LaLiga EA Sports. During this interview, he addressed the issues of player injuries and the transfer market.

“Unfortunately, we are missing some key players, which can be quite taxing in our day-to-day operations and planning, especially since we are playing every three days,” Fajardo remarked. Regarding the status of players Chimy Ávila and Bakambu, he stated, “Chimy and Bakambu, as long as they are part of Real Betis Balompié, are considered just like any other member of the squad, and it is up to the coach to decide who plays.”

Notably, Bakambu is a player that today’s opponent, Alavés, is reportedly interested in during the upcoming January transfer window. However, Fajardo chose to refrain from providing further details out of institutional respect: “Cédric is a player that many clubs admire. Perhaps today is not the appropriate time to speculate; we must respect the other entities involved. Nonetheless, he is a player that has drawn inquiries from numerous clubs in recent days.”
