Sergio Ramos Enters Exclusive Negotiations to Acquire Sevilla FCSergio Ramos Enters Exclusive Negotiations to Acquire Sevilla FC

Sergio Ramos has officially signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with several key shareholders of Sevilla FC, represented on the board of directors. This marks the beginning of an exclusive negotiation period aimed at examining the club’s financials, known as the Due Diligence process, which is often considered the most challenging aspect of any acquisition. This information was first reported by Radio Sevilla.

Ramos has partnered with Argentine businessman Martín Ink, the CEO of Five Eleven Capital, a U.S.-based football holding company. Ink has previously collaborated with Antonio Cordón, the current director of professional football at Sevilla.

Demonstrating his commitment, Ramos’s proposal has gained traction, positioning him as the leading candidate for the acquisition of Sevilla FC. Two other groups have withdrawn from the race after conducting a thorough financial analysis of the club, which ultimately led to the dissolution of their similar agreements.

The financial backing for this operation comes from IDC Ventures, a U.S.-based investment fund with Guatemalan roots, which will act as the capital partner for Five Eleven Capital.

On January 15, the former Sevilla player traveled to the city with his brother René and lawyer and economist Julio Senn to hold discussions with shareholders and attorney Alberto Pérez Solano. Pérez Solano is one of the key figures in the ongoing sale process. Initially, Ramos’s proposal was set at €450 million for acquiring the club, where he played during two distinct phases of his career.

Despite positive feelings following a two-hour meeting, shareholders were considering a new counterproposal due to delays from the primary American investment group. This new proposal was made during an exclusivity period pending the Due Diligence and final offer preparation. Ramos has patiently awaited his opportunity, and that moment has now arrived.
