omidbasir- Robin van Persie had a contentious encounter with Algemeen Dagblad journalist Mikos Gouka following the match against Heracles Almelo. The Feyenoord coach appeared reluctant to address questions from the club’s observer, a reaction attributed to Gouka’s reporting on the altercation between Van Persie and player Quinten Timber.

In a podcast hosted by Algemeen Dagblad, Gouka shared that Sunday’s interactions were less than smooth. He remarked, “Generally, things have been alright, but not today. I haven’t exactly penned glowing reviews, which would be absurd. Although I sometimes notice colleagues writing as if they’ve just won the Champions League, perhaps that’s what he prefers. I’m not reading too much into it; however, his responses were notably terse this time.”

Gouka firmly believes in the accuracy of his reporting regarding the aforementioned incidents, stating, “Should I disregard my sources? I’ve spoken to ten individuals who revealed various issues within the locker room. You can always argue that we weren’t physically at odds, but I spoke with a rather astute individual who mentioned that he has been observing from a distance. Feyenoord employs a rather meticulous tactical approach, focusing heavily on details rather than addressing the core problems. The real issue was that Read played for ninety minutes. That was a mistake that should not have happened.”

Earlier, De Telegraaf reported on the ongoing discord between Van Persie and Timber, a situation that has reportedly been brewing for some time. Marcel van der Kraan, a Feyenoord watcher, noted during the Kick-off podcast, “There hasn’t been a week in the past few months without tension between Van Persie and Timber. However, given the numerous injuries, you must continue to field a player. Van Persie had intended to make a decisive call regarding Timber much earlier.”
