omidbasir- Mallorca continues to grapple with inconsistency this season. At home, they have managed to accumulate 16 points; however, their performance away from Son Moix has been dismal, yielding only 5 points. More concerning is that after 21 matches, the team under Arrasate has yet to string together two consecutive victories.

While the five wins have kept the team out of the relegation zone since they finished at the bottom on matchday 8, this precarious situation could change tonight. With Getafe visiting Montilivi, a positive result for them could push Mallorca back into the danger zone for the first time in 13 matches.

The inability to secure two consecutive wins significantly hampers Mallorca’s chance to gain breathing room above the relegation zone. A team that plays with fire risks getting burned. The lack of defensive solidity is particularly punishing, as they have conceded only one goal less than Levante, Oviedo, and Girona, the teams with the highest goals against this season. Furthermore, it is especially troubling that they have been unable to capitalize on the 14 goals scored by Vedat Muriqi, the league’s second-highest scorer, except on a few occasions.

Compounding these issues, reinforcements have yet to arrive as of January 26, aside from Kalumba, who is considered a long-term acquisition. There are more rumors surrounding players leaving the island than new signings coming in. Time is running out, and relegation looms ominously over a Mallorca side that is struggling to find its footing.
