omidbasir- Ajax will not be enhancing its roster this winter with Carlos Vicente, as reported by Voetbal International and Spanish transfer journalist Matteo Moretto. The right winger from Deportivo Alavés has opted for a move to the ambitious Birmingham City instead.

Following the sale of Raúl Moro to Osasuna, Ajax has been on the lookout for a new right winger. Vicente emerged as a candidate after other names such as Yáser Asprilla, Leon Bailey, and Ilias Akhomach were previously discussed. Under the guidance of the new technical director Jordi Cruijff, Vicente was thoroughly evaluated. Ajax moved forward with concrete interest in the Spanish player, but ultimately, their efforts have not yielded the desired outcome.

Despite Ajax’s interest, not everyone within the club seems particularly disappointed by Vicente’s decision. Ajax correspondent Tim van Duijn noted on X that “Vicente is not coming, but I don’t get the impression that it’s a significant loss for Ajax.” Furthermore, it has been revealed that Cruijff had a strong desire to acquire the Spanish winger, indicating that he viewed Vicente as a valuable addition to the squad.
