Wanner, born in Dornbirn, Austria, holds dual nationality, allowing him to choose between Germany and Austria for his international career. At only twenty years old, he has decided to switch allegiance to his birth country, potentially opening the door for participation in the 2026 World Cup.

After a challenging start in Eindhoven, Wanner has successfully secured a starting position in Peter Bosz’s squad.
