Bayern Munich Engages in Contract Talks with Harry KaneBayern Munich Engages in Contract Talks with Harry Kane

Harry Kane has made a significant impact at Bayern Munich, scoring 26 goals and providing eight assists in 31 league matches, helping the club secure the 2024-25 German title.

Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, confirmed that the club is actively negotiating with Kane about extending his contract. The 32-year-old England captain joined Bayern on a four-year agreement from Tottenham in August 2023, in a deal valued at an initial 100 million euros (£86.4 million).

Since joining, Kane has netted 119 goals and delivered 30 assists across 126 matches for Bayern. Notably, he celebrated the first major trophy of his career as the team clinched the 2024-25 Bundesliga title.

“We’re talking to Harry; discussions are ongoing,” Eberl mentioned during a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt. “It’s well known that at some point a decision will need to be made.”

Kane expressed in October that he “could definitely” envision continuing his career at Bayern, noting that his ambition to return to the Premier League has “diminished somewhat.”

This current season, Kane has achieved remarkable success, scoring 34 goals in 30 matches, including 21 in 19 Bundesliga games, as he aims to surpass Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga season.

Additionally, Kane has played a pivotal role in propelling Bayern to second place in the Champions League group stage with one game remaining.

“Harry has great confidence in us and feels comfortable in Munich,” stated Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bayern’s chief executive. “He and his family are settling in well, so there’s no need for us to rush the process.”
