omidbasir- Timon Wellenreuther may be nearing the end of his time at Feyenoord. The 30-year-old goalkeeper has reportedly drawn attention from several clubs in the Bundesliga, as noted by Mounir Boualin in the latest episode of Transfermind on SoccerNews. The question remains: who will succeed the German next season?

Since Justin Bijlow’s departure to Genoa during the winter transfer window, Wellenreuther has become the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for Feyenoord. While he has held this position for some time, with only Liam Bossin and Mannou Berger as backups, his position now seems particularly secure. Additionally, Robin van Persie appointed him captain during the winter break, replacing Sem Steijn.

One potential candidate linked to Feyenoord following Bijlow’s exit is Jari De Busser. The 26-year-old goalkeeper has frequently excelled this season with Go Ahead Eagles and is reportedly being monitored by the Rotterdam club. When asked if De Busser is a superior goalkeeper to Wellenreuther, Boualin responded firmly, stating, “No, I do not believe so. While De Busser has consistently proven himself as a penalty saver and is a decent line keeper, I do not consider him to be better than Wellenreuther. However, he has been underwhelming this season.”
