In contrast, Go Ahead Eagles have expressed no interest in bringing Willumsson back. Last week, director Jan Willem van Dop stated that Willumsson was offered to the club during transfer discussions concerning Milan Smit, who recently transferred to Stoke City for €5.5 million. “There is no place for him here, and I must be honest about that,” Van Dop remarked to RTV Oost. While a return to his former club seems unlikely for the 18-time international, a move to NEC could still be on the horizon.
