omidbasir- Chelsea FC has issued an urgent advisory to fans traveling to Naples for the upcoming Champions League match, urging them to exercise extreme caution in light of recent incidents involving supporter injuries.

The Italian city has a documented history of away supporters facing threats from Napoli ultras. The club acknowledged an incident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Naples, resulting in two Chelsea supporters requiring hospital treatment due to non-life-threatening injuries.

A Chelsea statement confirmed, “The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples. Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The club urges all supporters to exercise extreme caution while in the city and heed the advice provided ahead of this fixture.”

Details surrounding the cause of the injuries remain unverified; however, reports suggest that one supporter was hospitalized after being stabbed in the leg with a screwdriver.

Approximately 2,500 Chelsea fans have secured tickets for the match, and they are encouraged to congregate in designated areas to travel to the stadium via shuttle bus under police escort. Earlier travel advice issued by Chelsea cautioned, “During UEFA competition matches, attacks on away fans have sometimes occurred in Naples.”

Supporters are advised to refrain from walking around the city and to avoid wearing club colors or emblems that would identify them as Chelsea fans.

In this crucial match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Chelsea, under the management of Liam Rosenior, is aiming for a victory to secure a direct berth in the last 16 of the Champions League, while their hosts, the defending Serie A champions, seek a win to continue their campaign.
