Ajax’s Transfer Strategy Under Scrutiny: An Analysis

Despite having the goal of achieving second place, Inan notes that there seems to be a lack of urgency in Ajax’s transfer activities. “This would greatly assist Jordi Cruijff in reshaping the squad. However, I do not feel that this is currently a priority. If you consider the players mentioned in the media, you might get a different impression. Inan also mentioned that Cruijff has already dismissed the possibility of signing right-back JP Chermont from Santos FC. “Cruijff prefers immediate reinforcements, which is why they are looking at Zinchenko,” he stated. Additionally, León Bailey from Aston Villa has been discussed as a potential target. Inan reflects that, “This idea comes from Beuker. I have the impression that Beuker is aiming for very ambitious players who would resonate well with the fan base, but it has become clear that half of these names are not feasible. Bailey is another example; he has made appearances for Aston Villa and is now unattainable because he has already played for two clubs this season.”
