omidbasir- Following the loan acquisition of Jonas Omlin from Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach, Kasper Hjulmand, has officially opened the competition for the goalkeeping position. The club has promptly registered Omlin for participation in the Champions League. Hjulmand addressed the media regarding his new goalkeeper at a pre-match press conference for the UEFA Champions League.

“It would be a problem if he said, ‘I’m here not to play,'” Hjulmand remarked about Omlin during the Tuesday press conference. “We have great confidence in Janis [Blawich] as well, and now we have another goalkeeper who enters this competition. We will see how it unfolds; however, it is indeed competitive. Janis will play against Villarreal tomorrow, and then we’ll assess the situation further.”

After losing both his starting position and the captaincy at Gladbach just before the season commenced, Omlin is enthusiastic about his transition to a new club. He openly shared his ambitions in an interview published on Leverkusen’s official channels.

“I haven’t had much playing time in recent months, and I genuinely hope to prove myself here and earn a place in the team at Leverkusen,” Omlin stated. “I will do everything in my power to make the coach’s decision as challenging as possible. I’m excited to take on this new challenge.

“My first match after arriving in Gladbach was against Leverkusen, and now I get the opportunity to represent Leverkusen myself. Thankfully, I already reside in Düsseldorf, so my commute will only require a different exit on the Autobahn to reach work.”
