Fulham Secures Bobb in 27 Million Transfer from CityFulham Secures Bobb in 27 Million Transfer from City

omidbasir- According to The Athletic, Fulham has successfully negotiated a transfer agreement to sign Bobb from Manchester City for £27 million. This deal includes a 20% sell-on clause, and City retains the right to match any future bids for the player should interest arise. The Norway international is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Thursday, after which he will finalize his move to West London.

Bobb has represented Norway 16 times but has struggled for playing time at the Etihad Stadium, making only 47 senior appearances in total, during which he scored three goals and provided four assists. His opportunities have been further diminished following the acquisition of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, in addition to the presence of notable players such as Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku, and Savinho in City’s squad.

Injuries have also plagued Bobb’s career, notably a leg fracture sustained during a training session in the United States prior to the 2024-25 season. Reflecting on the injury, he stated, “I was pressing and then my foot got stuck… it was just annoying. I didn’t think of it as that bad just because I’ve seen loads of my friends get big injuries and a lot of them have come back stronger.”

Manager Pep Guardiola has praised Bobb’s capabilities, highlighting his defensive skills and contributions in attack. After a match against Brentford, Guardiola remarked, “Oscar defensively is a machine… I’m really pleased he played good. I will encourage him to be more incisive… He was really, really good in that first half and defensively, offensively – in all aspects.” However, Guardiola has also acknowledged that Bobb is seeking to leave the club.

Fulham currently sits seventh in the Premier League, just four points shy of Champions League qualification. Manager Marco Silva has emphasized the importance of embracing pressure and enhancing the team’s character and mentality. He remarked, “What makes the difference between the normal sides and the good sides is the way you are able to bounce back and show character as a team.”

As Fulham prepares to face Manchester United this weekend, a victory could bring them within a point of the fourth-placed Red Devils. Bobb might make his debut in this crucial match if the transfer is completed in time for registration.
