Kylian Mbappe Future Premier League Prospects and Ballon d Or AspirationsKylian Mbappe Future Premier League Prospects and Ballon d Or Aspirations

omidbasir- During his time with Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe was frequently associated with major clubs in the Premier League. Manchester City, with their considerable financial resources, could easily facilitate any potential transfer deal.

Liverpool has also been performing exceptionally well recently, with Anfield emerging as a potential future destination for one of the world’s most formidable forwards. Reports suggest that Mbappe had discussions with Liverpool as he contemplated his departure from PSG.

He concluded his PSG tenure as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, netting 235 goals, and secured a lucrative contract in Spain, having become a free agent with no transfer fee involved.

Mbappe has openly expressed his desire to become a ‘Galactico’ at Santiago Bernabeu at some stage in his career. He has maintained remarkable individual standards in Madrid, having scored 80 goals in just 88 appearances.

Though his contract extends until the summer of 2029—by which time he will be 30—he may still be attracted to a new challenge. Ambitious teams in England will consistently seek players of Mbappe’s caliber.

When asked about the possibility of the World Cup winner returning to one of his previous clubs, such as Arsenal or Manchester City, former France international Bacary Sagna stated, “If he were to join the Premier League, I believe Arsenal would be a good fit for him.

“The players are of a similar age, dynamic, and youthful. Players like Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze bring speed and excitement to the team. Arsenal seems to suit him best in England.

“However, I’m uncertain if this will happen, as he may choose to retire in Europe with Real Madrid. His speed is reminiscent of Thierry Henry, who made a significant impact in the Premier League. I believe Mbappe would thrive in England.”

Mbappe had a brief spell with Chelsea’s youth team at the age of 14, having been invited to meet with London rivals Charlton, but no deal materialized.

Monaco ultimately launched Mbappe onto the global stage, and he transferred to PSG in 2017, coinciding with Neymar’s record-breaking €222 million (£192m/$265m) move from Barcelona to Parc des Princes.

Mbappe was widely regarded as a future Ballon d’Or winner at that time. At 27, he is still yet to secure his first Golden Ball, but Sagna believes he could achieve this in 2026, stating, “This could be the season for him to win it. I anticipate a strong performance from him in the World Cup with the France national team.

“I also expect him to excel in the Champions League with Real Madrid. Unless he experiences a significant downturn during the World Cup, which seems unlikely, I think he will win the Ballon d’Or this season.”

Currently, Mbappe is just two goals behind Olivier Giroud on France’s all-time scoring list, positioning him to make further history in 2026. It remains uncertain whether his exceptional pace and scoring ability will ever dazzle the Premier League in a manner akin to the legendary Thierry Henry.
