Ajax’s Ambitious Transfer Strategy Ahead of Season Closure

Ajax is making a concerted effort to secure the second position in the Eredivisie. The Amsterdam club aims to present as many as five new players in the final days of the transfer window.

According to the Algemeen Dagblad, two transfers are nearing completion, with Maarten Paes and Oleksandr Zinchenko likely to join the club. Additionally, Ajax is targeting a Brazilian right-back, an experienced midfielder, and an Argentine winger before the transfer deadline on Wednesday.

The club is focused on achieving a second-place finish in the Eredivisie. While the championship seems out of reach due to a significant gap behind PSV, the second position remains attainable, which would grant Ajax direct access to the group stage of the Champions League.
