When asked to predict the winner of the Golden Boot for the tournament taking place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, Jones confidently named Harry Kane after a brief moment of thought. He quickly endorsed England as his pick for the World Champions, expressing strong belief in their potential success. Furthermore, he predicted that Jordan Pickford would secure the Golden Glove, while also identifying Italy as potential dark horses, contingent on their qualification through the play-offs.

In a light-hearted moment, when queried about which team might falter in the tournament, Jones jokingly suggested Germany, playfully teasing Julien Nagelsmann’s side and GOAL Deutschland interviewer Valentin Huther.
