omidbasir- Berterame has made the transition to Inter Miami following Monterrey’s confirmation of his departure on Friday, concluding a contract that was initially scheduled to run until December 2027. This transfer, valued at around $15 million, was finalized after extensive negotiations between both clubs.

Inter Miami’s head coach, Javier Mascherano, advocated for the acquisition, aiming to bolster his attacking lineup by adding a proven scorer alongside Lionel Messi. Berterame gained the club’s attention during the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, where he was named MVP in a match against Inter Miami, solidifying his position on the MLS team’s radar.

Originally from Argentina, Berterame was later naturalized as a Mexican international. He entered Mexican football in 2019 and quickly made an impact. He became the top scorer in Liga MX with Atlético de San Luis, participated in the Liga MX All-Star team in 2022, and established himself as a key player with Monterrey.

Throughout his Liga MX career, Berterame finished just one goal shy of 100, netting 31 goals with Atlético de San Luis and 68 with Rayados for a cumulative total of 99. Overall, at the club level, he has surpassed the 100-goal milestone and has earned eight caps with the Mexican national team as he strives for a position in El Tri’s World Cup plans.

Inter Miami is set to face Atlético Nacional this Saturday at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium in an international friendly. Mascherano’s squad approaches this match following a 3-0 defeat against Alianza Lima in their latest preseason outing.
