FootballInsider247 reports that Middlesbrough is considering a move for Hamburg striker Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer. It is important to note that, at this time, there are no reliable German sources to substantiate this rumor. Nonetheless, it could be advantageous for HSV to sell the 24-year-old before the conclusion of the current January transfer window.

The newly promoted Bundesliga club attempted to transfer Königsdörffer during the summer, but a deal with Nice ultimately fell through. The Berlin native scored his first Bundesliga goal this season; however, he has not found the net again since achieving this milestone in November.

This season, Königsdörffer has made only four league starts and has yet to complete a full 90 minutes on the pitch. Hamburg has been active in the current transfer window, seeking more dependable options in their attacking lineup, including the acquisition of Southampton striker Damion Downs.

Valued at €4 million, Königsdörffer is currently under an expiring contract. The former Ghanaian international’s club stands to profit significantly from a striker they previously acquired for just €1.5 million from Dynamo Dresden. It is likely that Hamburg may be willing to let Königsdörffer go for a fee considerably lower than his estimated market value.
