Rapper Snoop Dogg, who boasts over 100 million followers on social media, has expressed his ambition to elevate Swansea City into a renowned global brand.

At 54 years old, Snoop Dogg became a co-owner and investor in Swansea City after acquiring a minority stake in the Championship club last July. He has long harbored aspirations of investing in a soccer team and is eager to assist Swansea in generating the necessary funds to facilitate their return to the Premier League.

“I want to be very hands-on and guide the club in a direction it may not have explored before,” he stated in an interview with Wales Online. “Our goal is to take Swansea to the Premier League, and to achieve that, we will need financial investments—that’s the reality of the game today.”

Snoop Dogg aims to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity initiatives that will elevate Swansea’s profile on a global scale. Despite having sold over 30 million albums worldwide, he has yet to attend a Swansea game; however, his son Cordell Broadus was seen in the directors’ box during a match against Watford last August.

In December, American billionaire businesswoman Martha Stewart joined Snoop Dogg and Real Madrid legend Luka Modric as co-owners of Swansea. Stewart recently attended a match against Wrexham just before Christmas. Swansea officials have indicated that Snoop Dogg is likely to make an appearance at a game this season, although a specific date has not yet been confirmed.

“I genuinely want to connect with the fans,” Snoop Dogg remarked. “These supporters are passionate and authentic, and I’m eager to hear their thoughts when I’m in Swansea. Investing in a soccer team has been a long-standing dream of mine, and it was all about waiting for the right opportunity.”

Modric was the first prominent figure to join Swansea’s ownership, being named a co-owner last April. The club’s American owners, led by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, believe that attracting high-profile individuals to the board will enhance the club’s visibility and, consequently, increase revenue.
