Dani Raba Omitted from Valencia s Squad Against BetisDani Raba Omitted from Valencia s Squad Against Betis

The most notable news regarding Valencia’s squad for the upcoming match against Betis is the absence of Dani Raba. The Cantabrian midfielder, who was signed in the summer after his contract with Leganés ended, has gradually fallen out of favor with coach Carlos Corberán. This has led to speculation that he might be the leading candidate to vacate a roster spot as the transfer window closes. In a press conference held this Saturday, the coach confirmed that there were no last-minute injuries, aside from the known absences of Diakhaby, Thierry, and Agirrezabala, and added that César Tárrega had recovered and traveled to Sevilla. Therefore, Raba’s omission appears to be a tactical decision, given that the coach has increasingly relied less on the player, who has not participated for a single minute in the last four league matches.

It is important to note that Dani Raba’s signing was finalized at the end of last season while Miguel Corona was still serving as the sports director of Valencia, and with the approval of Carlos Corberán. Raba was initially a starter in the first league match against Real Sociedad, where he provided an assist. However, during the second match, he had a confrontation with the coach when he was substituted in the 26th minute to balance the team following Gayá’s red card. Since then, Raba has only started in the league match against Athletic, and in other games, he has entered as a substitute, often late in the match, or has been reserved for cup competitions, where he has scored two goals against Maracena and Sporting.

In addition to Raba’s absence, the squad for the match against Betis features new signings Guido Rodríguez and Unai Núñez, as well as goalkeeper Cristian Rivero, who, despite being injured, has traveled with the team.
