Endrick has made a significant impact on Paulo Fonseca’s Lyon since joining the club on loan until the end of the season.

Seeking more first-team opportunities after limited appearances at Real Madrid this season, the 19-year-old striker has thrived in his new environment. He made a memorable debut by scoring in Lyon’s 2-1 away victory against Lille in the Coupe de France round of 32 on January 11, followed by a remarkable hat-trick in the 5-2 league win against Metz two weeks later.

Endrick’s impressive goal-scoring ability has enhanced his prospects of earning a spot on Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. As he continues to attract attention with his performances at Lyon, speculation has intensified regarding a potential extension of his stay through a new loan agreement in the summer.

In an interview with French publication L’Equipe, Endrick did not dismiss the possibility of remaining with Lyon, stating, “Only God knows what will happen, whether he’ll tell me to stay here or not. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.”

Reflecting on his positive experience thus far, Endrick remarked, “My adaptation has been almost perfect. Since my arrival, the communication with my teammates and the staff has been excellent. I am truly grateful for their daily support and hope to improve with each match, aiming to achieve our objectives by the season’s end.”

He acknowledged the importance of the club management’s efforts to welcome him, stating, “I felt their confidence. I’ve found a united team here, where camaraderie is paramount. When there’s unity on and off the pitch, everything flows more smoothly.”

His recent remarks follow a notable milestone, as his hat-trick against Metz marked the first of his burgeoning career. After the match, Endrick expressed his joy, stating, “That was the first hat trick of my life; I’m very happy, truly. It was an incredible match, and I’ll keep the ball from that game at home. I think it’s been great playing in this league [Ligue 1], which is strong and physical; I like that.”

Endrick added, “It wasn’t a mistake coming to Lyon. My life has always been difficult, but I remain strong with the support of those around me. This is just the beginning. People have always told me that Lyon is a great team, and the truth is that the team is indeed very good.”

Looking ahead, Endrick aims to continue his scoring streak when Lyon faces Bruno Genesio’s Lille on Sunday, with both teams currently positioned fourth and fifth in the Ligue 1 table.

Meanwhile, Endrick’s parent club, Real Madrid, seeks to recover from a heavy midweek Champions League defeat against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica as they prepare to host Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on the same day.
