Arsenal is on the brink of securing a significant place in football history if they can conclude their 22-year wait for a domestic title this season. Currently leading the Premier League, they stabilized their position with a decisive 4-0 victory over Leeds United.

Under the management of Mikel Arteta, the team has also advanced to the Champions League round of 16 with an impeccable record, collecting maximum points from eight matches. Additionally, they are leading their Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea and are set to face League One side Wigan in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Midfielder Declan Rice is eager to enhance his medal collection and remains focused on maintaining competitive momentum both domestically and internationally. He has made it a priority to ensure his teammates at the Emirates Stadium understand the stakes involved in the upcoming months.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports after their convincing win at Elland Road, Rice stated, “We have to maintain perspective. So far, we’re at the top of the Premier League, we’ve won all eight matches in the Champions League, secured a victory in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, and advanced in the cup. We cannot complain about our position.”

He continued, “If you had asked any Arsenal fan where we would be at this stage of the season, they would have been thrilled. We are in a strong position, and as players, we recognize the depth of our squad. It’s crucial to utilize that and treat every match as if it’s a cup final. To be a true winner, you have to win these games. The next four months will be demanding, but we are prepared. This is our chance to create a legacy at Arsenal.”

After a stretch of three Premier League matches without a win, where they managed only two points from two goalless draws, Rice played a pivotal role in reigniting the team’s performance against Leeds. Reflecting on their recent challenges, he commented, “We are experienced enough to recognize that the last three games represented a dip in form. We knew we had to secure a win and gain those three points. With 15 games remaining in the Premier League, continuous victories are essential to maintain our lead. This result was monumental for the entire team.”

During the match against Leeds, Rice achieved the milestone of 300 Premier League appearances, having started his career at West Ham before transferring to Arsenal for £105 million ($144 million) in 2023. He remarked on this significant achievement, saying, “It has been a long journey that has passed quickly. Fortunately, I’ve been consistent and managed to stay injury-free. My mindset of continually striving for improvement and winning has been beneficial. I’m only 27, so I hope to keep adding to my appearances. I’m very pleased with where I am.”

Arsenal will return to cup action on Tuesday, hosting Chelsea with a 3-2 aggregate lead. They also have a derby match against arch-rivals Tottenham scheduled for later this month and are awaiting the announcement of their next opponent in European competition, as the knockout play-off fixtures will finalize the list of 16 teams in the Champions League.
