Junior Adamu Set for January Move to Celtic

Florian Plettenberg reports that Junior Adamu, the striker from Freiburg, has successfully reached an agreement with Celtic for a loan transfer scheduled for January. According to Get German Football News, there are no foreseeable obstacles preventing the completion of this deal. Plettenberg has indicated that Adamu is currently en route to Glasgow to undergo his medical examination.

Despite interest from other clubs, Plettenberg’s reports suggest that Adamu’s impending arrival at Parkhead makes it unlikely that any competing offers will materialize at this stage. Freiburg has no compelling reason to retain Adamu in their squad, given the circumstances.

Adamu has had an active start to the season, featuring in seven consecutive Bundesliga matches between matchdays four and ten. However, he has not played a single minute of league action since the beginning of 2026. On a positive note, Adamu brings valuable experience from European competitions, having participated in all seven of Freiburg’s UEFA Europa League fixtures this season.
