Wolverhampton Wanderers have accepted a revised offer of £48 million for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Crystal Palace. Last week, both clubs had reached a preliminary agreement for a £50 million deal to transfer the Norway international to Selhurst Park.

The only requirement remaining was for Palace to submit a formal written offer. If the bid aligned with the previously discussed figure, Wolves were prepared to accept it. However, as reported by BBC Sport, the offer did not materialize, and Palace communicated their intention to withdraw from negotiations, thereby jeopardizing the transfer.

Sources indicate that Palace’s decision to halt the final discussions stemmed from concerns regarding the total financial implications of the deal, rather than any reservations about the player himself.

This stalemate has raised further doubts about the potential transfer in recent days. Yet, with just over 24 hours left until the closure of the transfer window, Palace has successfully secured a new offer that includes £43 million upfront plus an additional £5 million in performance-related bonuses—two million less than their original verbal proposal.

Should this deal be finalized, it may pave the way for Jean-Philippe Mateta to facilitate his long-anticipated move to AC Milan. Mateta is eager to depart Selhurst Park, with the Italian club currently leading the pursuit of his signature. Nonetheless, Palace remains hesitant to allow the French international to leave without securing a suitable replacement.
