The closing of the winter transfer window will find Sevilla FC in Mallorca. The team will conclude Matchday 22 with a visit to Son Moix at 21:00 hours. Head coach Matías Almeyda addressed the media this morning, discussing both the upcoming match and the transfer window.

“I have never spoken about reinforcements. I have complete confidence in the players we have and the team that has been formed. Above all, I want to reassure them that we are in this fight and engaged in constant effort. I am not thinking about anything else,” commented the coach.

One notable name mentioned was Juanlu Sánchez. The Argentine expressed little concern regarding a potential departure as the transfer market nears its end: “I see it as unlikely because there are only hours left, and as far as I know, there have been no proposals. I am a coach, and I train the players I have available.”

“I said I have no excuses, and I support the players I have wholeheartedly. For me, it is all about them. They give their all in every training session, showing commitment and encouraging each other. I believe they are recognizing the moment and accepting it with character. In fact, over the last two matches, we have embodied the phrase that is often mentioned: Sevilla never surrenders. That is a phrase we must make a reality, not just a saying. We are doing it on the pitch, and I hope it continues. We do not give up; we will continue to fight until the end,” added Almeyda.

Unless there is an unexpected sale in the coming hours that allows for further movement—which seems rather improbable—Neal Maupay will be the only signing for Sevilla this winter, and the striker may make his debut this evening in the squad for the match in Mallorca.
