Concerns Grow Over Feyenoord s Performance and Robin van Persie s FutureConcerns Grow Over Feyenoord s Performance and Robin van Persie s Future

On Sunday afternoon, Feyenoord faced a disheartening defeat against PSV in Eindhoven. Former striker Wim Kieft suggests that the end may be near for Robin van Persie at the Rotterdam club. He observes a lack of progress in Feyenoord’s performance, a sentiment echoed by Willem van Hanegem, who also expresses significant concern.

During a discussion on Studio Voetbal, Kieft described Feyenoord’s display against PSV as ‘truly tragic.’ He noted, “If you look at the highlights, those were the only two fouls they committed throughout the match. They were pushed around in all directions, and it seemed like they had no clear direction. They wanted to move forward, yet several players kept falling back. It was quite poor, and that’s quite worrying at this point.”

Willem van Hanegem, in an article for the Algemeen Dagblad, voiced his concerns about the team’s spirit, stating, “After the match against PSV, one can only conclude that there is absolutely nothing left in this Feyenoord team. They simply send the ball forward through the unsettled goalkeeper to Ayase Ueda, and that’s about it. PSV exerted pressure for just a quarter of the game and then decided they had done enough.”
