RB Leipzig has unexpectedly confirmed the loan signing of Brajan Gruda from Brighton for the remainder of the season. The German club, seemingly focused on strategic signings during this transfer window, has opted to bring in the Speyer native, who will wear the No. 10 jersey.

This season, Gruda has recorded three goals and three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions. The former Mainz player faced challenges adapting to life in the Premier League, and prior to this announcement, there had been no speculation regarding his return to Germany.

In light of Assan Ouédraogo’s recent injury, Leipzig may have deemed it necessary to acquire another Germany U21 international who is eager to advance to the senior national team. Additionally, the team has struggled offensively, managing only five goals in their last five league matches in 2026.

In a brief video statement on the RB Leipzig website, Gruda expressed his excitement for joining the club and looked forward to meeting the fans this weekend.
