Ajax Set to Acquire Wilfred Ndidi for 14 MillionAjax Set to Acquire Wilfred Ndidi for 14 Million

Ajax is on the verge of acquiring Wilfred Ndidi for €14 million, according to Turkish media reports from Monday morning.

Before delving further, it’s important to note that several developments are occurring in Amsterdam. The Eredivisie club has also made an offer and engaged in discussions with Kodai Sano of NEC. However, it appears that NEC is resisting the transfer, adding complexity to Ajax’s situation. Technical director Jordi Cruijff is clearly exploring multiple options in the transfer market.

The key question remains whether the Eredivisie club is willing to commit to this expenditure. The funds available for player acquisitions are finite, and should Ndidi join the ranks at Johan Cruijff ArenA, it would limit the financial resources for pursuing Sano, either now or in the upcoming summer transfer window. Additionally, players like Álvarez may have gained renewed interest, particularly after Fenerbahçe officially signed N’Golo Kanté. However, the situation surrounding the Mexican player is complicated, as he is primarily owned by West Ham United.

Regarding another candidate, interim coach Fred Grim commented on the Brazilian player, stating: “Several names have been considered. We evaluated their feasibility. Having a second Fred at Ajax would have been appealing, but unfortunately, he is more expensive than the first Fred, making it unfeasible.”
