Reports indicate that 1. FC Köln is in the process of acquiring Bayern Munich’s promising midfielder, Felipe Chavez, on a loan basis. The club, located in the cathedral city of the Bundesliga, will have the opportunity to make Chavez’s move permanent at the conclusion of the season. Bayern Munich, however, has taken precautions by including a buyback option for the once-capped Peruvian international.

Chavez has made two recent substitute appearances under FCB head coach Vincent Kompany, both occurring in the early part of the 2026 calendar year. In total, he has amassed just 11 minutes of official playtime. Nevertheless, his performance in a January friendly prior to the 2026 season restart has garnered attention, showcasing his potential.

In a decisive match against RB Salzburg, Chavez displayed his skills by assisting German talent Lennart Karl for a goal and scoring one himself, contributing to a resounding 5-0 victory. Although Kompany named Chavez in the Champions League matchday squad facing PSV Eindhoven, the young midfielder did not see any action from the bench.
