Kodai Sano will continue to represent NEC in the coming months. Following Ajax’s departure from the bidding, Nottingham Forest has also seen their significant offer rejected.

NEC declined the €20 million bid for Kodai Sano.

As reported by ESPN on Monday evening, Nottingham Forest submitted a €20 million offer for Sano in the final hours of the transfer deadline. However, NEC has decided to reject this proposal. The highly sought-after Japanese midfielder was also the subject of interest from Ajax, who have since withdrawn from the race for his signature.

Ajax was unwilling to meet Nottingham Forest’s offer.

In contrast to Nottingham Forest’s bid, Ajax’s offer did not exceed €15 million, which included bonuses and a percentage of a future sale, according to De Telegraaf. Therefore, the Amsterdam club has officially stepped back from the competition for a player who is pivotal in their pursuit of a Champions League spot.
