Álvaro Fidalgo’s tenure as a new player for Real Betis is officially underway. The Asturian midfielder, following an emotional farewell from Club América in Mexico, where he spent the last five years of his career, traveled to Madrid on Monday and then made his way to Sevilla by road. This morning, he arrived at his hotel in the Andalusian capital, conveniently located next to the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol, the training ground for the first team.

Accompanied by trusted associates, Fidalgo later visited the club’s facilities to meet his new teammates. The club shared several images of the moment, showcasing the midfielder greeting Cucho Hernández, who is racing to recover in time for Thursday’s Copa del Rey match against Atlético, as well as Antony, who trained in the gym today and is expected to be a key offensive player for the Verdiblancos in the upcoming cup match.

Fidalgo is set to be officially presented this afternoon in the lounge area of the Bermejales complex, alongside club president Ángel Haro and sporting director Manu Fajardo. Starting tomorrow, he will begin training under coach Manuel Pellegrini, with a session ahead to prove his readiness to be included in the lineup for the match against Simeone’s team, which would mark his debut as a Betis player at La Cartuja.

“It was a long journey; I left yesterday and traveled for about twelve hours, but I am finally here, very happy, and grateful for the warm welcome. I am eager to play football and make my debut,” Fidalgo remarked upon his arrival at the hotel this morning. Reflecting on his desire to don the verdiblanco jersey, he added, “From the first moment I learned about this opportunity, I was drawn to the project, the club, and the fans… It’s an unparalleled place, and I am extremely happy.” Real Betis looks forward to Fidalgo bringing his recent success from Mexico to continue their momentum in LaLiga.
