Ajax s Search for a High Impact Coach Amidst Competition from PSVAjax s Search for a High Impact Coach Amidst Competition from PSV

The recruitment of Peter Bosz has proven to be an exceptionally successful move for PSV, leading to two championship titles, with a third seemingly imminent. Valentijn Driessen believes that Ajax can only bridge the gap with PSV by acquiring a coach who can make an immediate impact in Amsterdam. Johan Derksen advocates for the appointment of Dick Schreuder.

Currently, Fred Grim serves as the interim coach at Ajax and will remain in this position until the end of the season. Technical director Jordi Cruijff, who has recently begun his tenure with the Amsterdam club, will need to appoint a new coach. Driessen emphasizes that Cruijff must seek a trainer capable of delivering immediate results. “Cruijff needs to find a coach who will have an immediate impact,” asserts the journalist during the ‘Kick-off’ podcast by De Telegraaf.

Johan Derksen, speaking in his podcast ‘Groeten uit Grolloo’, warns that Cruijff should not pursue a Spanish coach. “Jordi only has knowledge of Spanish football and some connections there. However, bringing one to Ajax would be extremely costly.” Candidates such as Iñígo Pérez (Rayo Vallecano), Míchel (Girona), and Eder Sarabia (Elche) are already being discussed as potential options.
