Sevilla Prepares for Girona Match Amid Injury ConcernsSevilla Prepares for Girona Match Amid Injury Concerns

On Wednesday, Sevilla FC completed their second training session of the week at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios. The team aims to bounce back from their disappointing defeat against Mallorca and prepare for their upcoming league match against Girona. However, the session was conducted without defender Andrés Castrín, who is suffering from a quadriceps contusion in his right leg. This injury was sustained during training on Sunday, the last session prior to the trip to Mallorca, and has not shown favorable progress in recent hours. Following medical examinations conducted yesterday afternoon, the diagnosis was confirmed, leaving the player’s recovery uncertain.

In addition to Castrín, Sevilla also missed the services of Marcao, Adnan Januzaj, and Rubén Vargas during training. Marcao is out indefinitely due to recent surgery on the scaphoid bone in his left foot. Meanwhile, Januzaj is still rehabilitating from discomfort in his right hamstring. Vargas, sidelined with a left hamstring injury, is not expected to return to the team for at least a month. However, head coach Matías Almeyda will have Nemanja Gudelj available for selection, as the captain has completed his suspension due to accumulated yellow cards.

New signing Neal Maupay will be officially presented as Sevilla’s latest addition today at 1:00 PM in the José Antonio Sánchez Araujo Press Room at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium. The team has scheduled two more training sessions this week. Matías Almeyda is set to address the media ahead of the 23rd matchday of La Liga EA Sports on Friday at 12:30 PM. The following day, Sevilla will host Girona at home at 6:30 PM.
