Marcus Linday Prepares for Challenging Match Against PSV in KNVB Cup

On Wednesday evening at 21:00, SC Heerenveen will face PSV in the KNVB Cup. Midfielder Marcus Linday acknowledges the challenge posed by the reigning champions and league leaders.

“Everyone recognizes that PSV is the best team in the country, but we have openly declared our ambition to win the cup, which means we are prepared for a tough encounter with them,” Linday stated in an interview with Voetbal International. “Now, the moment has arrived.”

Originally hailing from a region where ice hockey is immensely popular, Linday reminisces, “I enjoyed playing ice hockey and competed at a decent level.” However, at the age of sixteen, he made the pivotal decision to pursue football instead. “Vasteras is about an hour’s drive from Södertälje, so I felt compelled to give it a chance; otherwise, I might have regretted it later on.” After spending a year with Vasteras, Heerenveen recognized his potential and brought him aboard.
