Claudio Gir ldez Discusses Market Closure and Upcoming Match Against OsasunaClaudio Gir ldez Discusses Market Closure and Upcoming Match Against Osasuna

In a recent press conference, Claudio Giráldez spoke about the challenges his team will face in the upcoming match against Osasuna, as well as the implications of the recent market closure.

Regarding the market closure, Giráldez stated, “We will evaluate it at the end of the season. Every change requires adaptation, and the nature of this adaptation will determine whether it is beneficial or not. I believe there are positive aspects to the market. Economically, it has been favorable. We managed to fulfill the requirements we identified at the start of the season with the addition of Fer. Furthermore, we have strengthened our defense with Álvaro Núñez, who provides the versatility to play as a full-back or center-back, a role we previously only had covered by Javi Rodríguez on the right side. We also benefit from Matías’s experience, although we still have a rather extensive squad.”

On the departure of Bryan Zaragoza, he commented, “There were rumors suggesting that there was tension between us, which I do not understand. We have a great relationship, and I hold him in high regard. He has improved significantly during his time with us. I am pleased with his contributions, and he felt that this opportunity was right for him, as did everyone involved. I respect his decision regarding his career and wish him the best, while also expressing gratitude for his time with us. It’s essential to respect individual choices in life and career, without fostering any negativity towards those decisions, which seems to have become normalized. Everything that has occurred is completely legal.”

Giráldez expressed general satisfaction with the team’s situation, stating, “Overall, we should remain optimistic and pleased with what has transpired. It’s unfortunate that Bryan’s departure happened at the last minute, as we were unable to bring in a replacement for that position.”

Turning his attention to Osasuna, he remarked, “I believe they have a very strong squad that has been well-reinforced. In my opinion, they are one of the teams with the most versatility, even just from their bench. Their coach is highly adaptable, capable of presenting a very different team from one match to the next. I have a great appreciation for him because he employs multiple strategies within both offensive and defensive structures—something I value in football. He clearly puts in a lot of effort.”

He concluded with a warning: “This is a match where we must remain very alert, as Osasuna is a team that can adapt to many different styles.”
