Liam Rosenior has made a commendable start as the manager of Chelsea, stepping in for Enzo Maresca. Prior to their midweek defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, Chelsea had demonstrated a potent attacking form, scoring three goals in three consecutive matches, including victories over Crystal Palace (3-1), Napoli (3-2 in the Champions League), and West Ham (3-2 in the Premier League).

Enzo Fernandez has praised Rosenior’s dynamic attacking approach, stating, “Maresca established our identity, which benefited us all. With the new coach [Rosenior], we have seen some changes; he has instilled confidence in each of us, leading to promising results. While the fundamentals remain similar, his style of play allows us greater freedom in the final third, building on the foundation laid by Maresca. We feel empowered to express ourselves in crucial moments.”

Despite speculation linking Fernandez with potential moves to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, he remains under contract with Chelsea for over six more years and expresses his contentment at Stamford Bridge. “On a personal level, I feel fantastic and am happy. I have seen growth both athletically and personally as the years progress. Feeling good off the pitch positively influences my performance on it.”

Rosenior has addressed the rumors surrounding Fernandez’s future, stating, “Such speculation means little to me. When you possess world-class talent, there will always be rumors beyond your control. He is an integral part of Chelsea, and I believe we will foster a successful relationship both in the immediate and distant future.”

Fernandez joined Chelsea during the January 2023 transfer window and has already secured titles such as the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He aspires to add Champions League glory to his achievements. Reflecting on their victory against Napoli, he noted, “It was an excellent match, and we deserved the win. I appreciate my teammates for their immense effort in what is traditionally a challenging venue. We are progressing steadily, now in the last 16 of the Champions League, looking forward to the upcoming draw with confidence in our capable squad.”

Currently, Fernandez has accumulated 11 goals and four assists across 36 appearances this season, marking an impressive campaign. Chelsea is set to face Wolverhampton this weekend, aiming to enhance their prospects for a top-four finish. A victory could propel them into Champions League qualification, as they sit just one point shy of Manchester United, currently in fourth place, while trailing league leaders Arsenal by 13 points.
