Girona to Sign Fourth Goalkeeper Following Injury ConcernsGirona to Sign Fourth Goalkeeper Following Injury Concerns

omidbasir- Girona FC is preparing to sign a fourth goalkeeper to bolster their squad and mitigate risks associated with player injuries. Following the departure of Livakovic and the arrival of Ter Stegen, the team initially appeared well-equipped with the presence of Gazzaniga and Krapyvtsov. However, the recent injury to the Barcelona-loaned goalkeeper just hours before the transfer window closed left the club in a precarious situation, relying solely on the Argentine and the Ukrainian, while the primary goalkeeper from the reserve team, Sergi Puig, was unavailable due to age restrictions.

Concerned about potential further injuries or suspensions, the sports management team, led by Quique Cárcel, has identified a budgetary allocation for the acquisition of Rubén Blanco. The goalkeeper recently became a free agent after terminating his contract with Olympique de Marseille a few weeks ago.

At 30 years old, Blanco, originally from Mos, has had a long tenure with Celta before being loaned to Marseille in 2022. The French club subsequently purchased him for €1.5 million a year later. Unfortunately, injuries have plagued the Galician goalkeeper, limiting him to just 10 appearances during his three and a half seasons at Marseille, where he played a very minor role.

The Girona club has issued an official statement through their channels, confirming that the German goalkeeper underwent successful surgery for a left hamstring injury. Neither the club nor the player has yet clarified how long he will be sidelined.
