Rocco Reitz Poised for €20 Million Transfer to RB Leipzig

According to Sport Bild, Rocco Reitz of Borussia Mönchengladbach is on the brink of a €20 million transfer to RB Leipzig. Reitz had been available for a €28 million release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club. However, negotiations have successfully reduced this figure, and the deal is expected to be finalized soon.

Austrian midfielder Xaver Schlager is currently on an expiring contract, which has heightened the urgency for a suitable replacement. Reitz, who has demonstrated consistent improvement since making his professional debut in October 2020, is regarded as the prime candidate for this role. Currently, the Duisburg-native’s market value has reached a career high of €17 million.

While Sport Bild maintains the transfer fee at €20 million, Sky Germany reports that Gladbach may ultimately receive the original €28 million. Kicker has also suggested a transfer fee of €23 million for Reitz. The final terms of the deal, including any performance bonuses and re-sale clauses, will be closely monitored as they emerge.
