Ramon, a distinguished graduate of Real Madrid’s prestigious La Fabrica academy, has made an impressive ascent through the youth ranks, culminating in a call-up from Carlo Ancelotti. During the 2024-25 season, he participated in three La Liga matches and one Champions League game. Subsequently, he transferred to Como for a fee of €2.5 million, after being convinced by coach Fabregas that the club would be an ideal platform for the next stage of his career. Importantly, Real Madrid retained a buy-back option for the promising defender. In the ongoing 2025-26 season, Ramon has showcased his talents by participating in eight out of Como’s ten Serie A matches, starting in seven of them. Recently, he played a pivotal role in defense, helping Como secure a goalless draw against reigning champions Napoli. While Ramon is enjoying his time in Italy, he has expressed intentions of potentially returning to Madrid in the future. In an interview with AS, Ramon remarked, “I strive to reach ‘Real Madrid level,’ which is the highest standard. I’m incredibly happy here, doing what I need to do. As for the future, we will see.” Reflecting on his first encounter with current Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, Ramon shared, “I vividly remember when he entered the locker room. It was my first meeting with a football legend like Xabi! It was incredible. He was always involved in the rondos and small-sided games, and his team always emerged victorious! He hasn’t lost his long-range shooting touch (laughs). Even though I was already in the first team, it was exciting to witness my own progress. It felt like coming full circle.” When asked if player Alonso is similar to the managerial version, Ramon responded, “Yes, even though we were just kids, it shaped us as individuals. He instilled values like humility, hard work, and effort. He demanded high pressing, good organization, and personality on the ball, encouraging us to play out from the back, much like what the current Real Madrid team is striving to achieve.” Discussing his transfer to Italy, Ramon previously mentioned to Sky Italia, “Cesc and I had an immediate understanding. The project is ambitious; I found a perfect environment and already made many friends within the team. I started off with two matches as a starter, and I couldn’t have asked for more. He told me I was perfect for him, and I was thrilled to join. I have learned a great deal from Fabregas in just a few weeks. It is a privilege to have him as my coach. Nico Paz is a close friend; I’m not surprised by his performance. I know his talent well and hope he remains with me at Como for a long time.” Ramon is set to return to action for Como this Sunday as Fabregas’ side prepares to face Cagliari in a Serie A match. Como, who have remained unbeaten since August 30, will aim to extend their streak to ten consecutive games across all competitions with a victory at home.
