Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart is keen on strengthening its striker lineup in the upcoming winter transfer window.

One notable target at Mercedesstraße is Racing Santander’s Jeremy Arevalo. The 20-year-old forward has made a significant impact in the Spanish second division, netting seven goals in just 12 appearances.

Although Arevalo’s contract in northern Spain runs until 2027, it includes a release clause set at €7 million. Stuttgart, however, faces competition from Bundesliga rival Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Serie A clubs AS Roma and Udinese for his signature.

Should Stuttgart successfully secure Arevalo, the transfer fee would surpass the €5.25 million Bayer Leverkusen paid for Christian Kofane from Albacete last summer. Additionally, RB Leipzig made headlines when they signed Yan Diomande from relegated Leganés for €20 million, showcasing the increasing trend of Bundesliga teams investing in LaLiga2 talent.

Currently, Stuttgart’s options for the striker position are limited, particularly following the injury to Ermedin Demirovic earlier this season. Deniz Undav and Tiago Tomas are the only available players capable of playing as a striker, leaving the team in need of a recognized forward.

In recent weeks, VfB Stuttgart has also been linked with Real Madrid’s striker Endrick; however, the out-of-favor Brazilian player does not align with Stuttgart’s current interests at Mercedesstraße.
