John van den Brom’s Future at FC Twente Uncertain Amid Changes

John van den Brom is currently uncertain about his future as the head coach of FC Twente for the upcoming season. Erik ten Hag has recently begun his tenure as the new technical director, and a decision regarding Van den Brom’s position is yet to be made. However, Valentijn Driessen believes that the former Ajax coach may have already made up his mind regarding a change.

Van den Brom joined FC Twente early this season following the dismissal of Joseph Oosting. He experienced a promising start, achieving several victories, but the team’s performance declined thereafter. Currently, Twente is positioned seventh in the Eredivisie and was recently eliminated by AZ in the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup.

Driessen opines that Van den Brom may not remain with Twente after this season. “There will be discussions with him, although I am unsure of the exact date. He will likely be informed that he should seek employment elsewhere,” he stated. Journalist Verweij added that this situation is not solely tied to the team’s results. “When a new technical director is appointed, they often prefer to bring in their own personnel,” referring specifically to Ten Hag’s recent appointment.
