omidbasir- Bayern Munich is in no immediate hurry to negotiate an extension with their 32-year-old striker, Harry Kane, whose current contract is set to last until the summer of 2027. This agreement, however, includes exit clauses that can be activated during each upcoming transfer window.

Recent reports suggest that a bid of £57 million ($78 million) would be sufficient to lure Kane away from Bavaria in 2026. Teams around the globe might view this fee as a reasonable investment, considering the high standards maintained by one of the world’s most formidable strikers.

Since parting ways with Tottenham in 2023, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer, Kane has netted 123 goals in 129 appearances for Bayern, earning two Golden Boots and securing a Bundesliga title.

While Kane’s trophy drought has ended in Germany, speculation persists regarding whether he will pursue future successes in a different environment. Bayern is understandably hesitant to relinquish such a key player to their squad.

Contract discussions were acknowledged in January; however, sporting director Max Eberl clarified, “I mentioned we were in talks, but negotiations have not yet commenced. We are in regular contact with Harry, and further developments will follow.”

Kane has expressed a willingness to consider a new deal with Bayern, citing his family’s contentment in Germany following their move from north London. Reflecting on his experience, Kane stated towards the end of 2025: “The transfer has been one of the best decisions of my life. Experiencing a new league, playing for a team like Bayern Munich, and enjoying the European atmosphere and the German league has significantly advanced my career. I am quite open to extending my stay. Given our current form, I believe we are among the best teams in Europe. I am genuinely happy here, and with 18 months left on my contract, I am confident discussions will ensue in the near future.”

Speculation about a move to other clubs has surfaced, with former Spurs player Gus Poyet mentioning to GOAL the potential interest from La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. Poyet remarked, “If he seeks a change for his family, I would certainly recommend Barcelona—if [Robert] Lewandowski departs. It would be entirely different from what he experienced before. Given Barcelona’s current style of play, Kane would undoubtedly thrive.”

Criticism has emerged from figures like Michael Owen regarding Kane’s decision to leave the Premier League, but it remains clear that family considerations will play a crucial role in Kane’s decision-making next year. A return to English football seems unlikely, as chasing Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record is not Kane’s primary focus; rather, winning trophies has taken precedence.

Nevertheless, intriguing offers from the Saudi Pro League may arise, with clubs in that region reportedly planning recruitment strategies for the forthcoming transfer window, especially as rumors circulate regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential exit from Al-Nassr.
