Interest Grows in Southampton’s Caspar Jander

omidbasir- Florian Plettenberg reports that RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart are actively monitoring the situation of Caspar Jander, a midfielder currently with Championship side Southampton.

In addition to Leipzig and Stuttgart, Ajax and several Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in acquiring the 22-year-old player. Jander is poised to make a significant move this summer, with his market value estimated between €15 million and €25 million.

Having joined Southampton in August 2025 for €12 million, Jander has featured in 29 matches across all competitions for the Saints, scoring two goals. His contract extends until 2028.

In light of Kevin Kampl’s recent departure and Xaver Schlager’s decision not to extend his contract beyond the summer, Leipzig is in urgent need of midfield reinforcements. The club has also earmarked Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Rocco Reitz as a potential target for the summer transfer window, with discussions nearing a conclusion for his signing.

On the other hand, Stuttgart was among several clubs that showed interest in acquiring Jander during the previous summer transfer window.
